What I’m Eating
I had this toasted black sesame bagel with vegan cream cheese + carrot lox 🥕 + cucumber 🥒 + tomato 🍅 + capers + coffee yesterday at @thekettleblackphilly and it was EXCEPTIONAL. The carrot lox was the best thing I’ve ever had and I’m super motivated to go make some for myself!
What I’m Listening To
If you know anything about me, you probably know that I’m a podcast addict. I listen to hours and hours of podcasts every week. This week, my favorite podcast episode #92 of The Life Stylist Podcast “Brainiac: The Ultimate Guide to Smart Drugs and Nootropics with Dr. Dan Stickler.”
Luke and Dr. Stickler cover a ton of topics like how to use the brain to optimize physiology, what nootropics are, different natural nootropic compounds on the market, and a whole lot more.
What I’m Watching
Recently, I’ve been watching the video footage of the podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience. His episodes with Dr. Rhonda Patrick are exceptional! This 30 minute snippet from episode #901 of the Joe Rogan Experience, is particularly motivating. The world would be a better place if everyone took the 30 minutes to listen.
What I’m Reading
Maybe We All Need a Little Less Balance by Brad Stulberg. Brad’s perspective on (a lack of) balance is one that I believe is truly missing in our modern American society – especially in the health and wellness bubble that I’ve grown to love online.
Rich Roll is quoted in this article saying “The path to fulfillment in life, to emotional satisfaction, is to find what really excites you and channel your all into it.” Brad also quotes a researcher at the Mayo Clinic, Dr. Michael Joyner, saying “You’ve got to be a minimalist to be a maximalist; if you want to be really good, master and thoroughly enjoy one thing, you’ve got to say no to many others.”
I highly recommend giving this article a read if you’re feeling pressured to be “balanced” all of the time.
